Meet The Team

Victoria – The Boss! Victoria. Butterfly Crafts Handmade Emporium

My name is Victoria and I’m a paper loving, soap making, stationery loving, cake baking, fabric stash addict girl with a passion for travel and all things handmade.

Born and raised in the UK where I currently live in Cambridgeshire, I am a strong advocate of the handmade and craft movement. If something can be made instead of bought, I will make it – or at least try!

Butterfly Crafts Handmade Emporium is an extension of my passion for the handmade as I wanted to give people the opportunity to purchase extra special cards to “Send a smile in an envelope” along with handmade gifts. I am passionate about making cards as I love the way a few pieces of paper and card can be turned into something wonderful and given to someone for a special occasion and often treasured for years to come.

Crafting is engrained in my blood. I always enjoyed the “cutting and sticking” classes at primary school and I completed my first cross stitch kit at a young age. I remember my Nana trying to teach me how to knit and I was fascinated how twisting yarn around a needle can make a jumper, or in my case a tea-cosy for my dolly teapot! I love to try out new crafts and pledged to myself to strive, where possible, to only give handmade gifts.

Paul – Web Guru and Cake TesterPaul

Paul has been an amazing addition and support to Victoria and is a rather smashing husband especially when helping to set up at craft fairs. Expert in all things website related he is the genius behind this website design and online shop and knows his stuff and how to confuse Victoria by talking about html and code monkeys. Easily bribed with baked goods Paul is excellent at photography and is on hand to advise with technical camera help.

Maureen and Graham – The Unpaid HelpMaureen and Graham

AKA Victoria’s parents who have kindly supported Victoria throughout the business.

Maureen has always been creative and is an expert behind the sewing machine or knitting needle often making up some lovely new accessories or helping with sewing fabric bags. When not in her greenhouse, Maureen is often seen behind the stall at a craft fair helping out and she really enjoys meeting my lovely customers in person.

In his own words Graham does “construction and loading” – which means he too can be spotted at craft fairs helping to unload the car and set up early in the morning at a Farmer’s Market. He is wonderful at woodwork and has been very helpful in making display stands for fairs; he can easily be bribed with a bacon sandwich or bag of liquorice!
