The handmade soap bars and bath soaks at Butterfly Crafts Handmade Emporium are made with high quality, eco friendly and above all, safe ingredients. I will not sell anything that I am not happy to use myself! Here are details of the main ingredients I use but please check the online shop pages for a full ingredients list in each product.
Essential Oils – 100% natural and are extracted from plants, flowers, leaves, roots, barks, resins and rinds of some fruits. The Essential Oils used by Butterfly Crafts Handmade Emporium are 100% vegan and are free of any synthetic compounds.
Natural Fragrance Oils – Blended from essential oils, however as they are not guaranteed to be 100% essential oil they are called natural fragrance oils. These oils do not contain synthetic compounds, alcohols or animal by products.
Phthalate Free Fragrance Oils – Synthetic oils specifically designed for cosmetic use but free of phthalates, parabens, sulphates and other contaminates.
Beeswax – a natural wax produced in the bee hive of honey bees.
Cocoa Butter – a very hard saturated fat pressed from cocoa beans which lays a protective layer on top of skin, which holds in moisture while softening and lubricating the skin.
Coconut Oil – gentle, light, moisturising properties that won’t clog pores.
Epsom Salts – also known as magnesium sulphate is widely used for treating muscle pain and bruising.
French Clay – Clays are pink, grey or green and are useful for drawing toxins and dirt from the skin.
Kaolin Clay – a mild clay that gently exfoliates and cleanses the skin.
Marine Sea Salt – A fine dried sea salt naturally evaporated by the sun and sea breeze and then washed in purified salt water.
Oatmeal – Used for texture and gentle exfoliating properties.
Olive Oil – packed with vitamins, minerals and proteins.
Palm Oil – rich in vitamins and nutrients and acts as a natural antibacterial. The Palm Oil used is certified-sustainable organic palm oil and originated from a farm in Columbia on the RSPO member list.
Shea Butter – nourishes and moisturises the skin. Shea butter contains vitamins A and E, and has demonstrated both antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties.
Sweet Almond Oil – very lubricating, and an effective emollient, softening and smoothing the skin. Oil is rich in Vitamin A and is very high in Fatty Acids, it is thought to offer relief for itchy or inflamed skin.
